“A new adventure awaits every time one ventures into an epic road trip.”
Exhausted from the hectic life of the bustling city of Mumbai. I decided for a road trip, along with my sister to a picturesque hill station, nestled in the Sahyadri hill range. Mahabaleshwar, during and post monsoon is nothing short of magical, with mist-covered peaks, vibrant greenery, and cascading waterfall.
The Journey
We started early around 6 am and made our way via Mumbai-Pune Express highway and then on NH48 route towards Mahabaleshwar. It was a smooth ride with good road conditions and minimal traffic, with no serious congestion.
Route: Mumbai ≫ Lonavala ≫ Talegaon Dabhade ≫ Wai ≫ Mahabaleshwar
Distance: 270 km | Duration: 5 - 7 hr. | Road Condition: 4 out of 5
On the way we had some hearty breakfast - Misal Pav, poha with hot chai and continued our journey towards our destination.
Some of the popular place en-route Mahabaleshwar is Lonavala (100km), popular hill station and weekend destination; Bhaja caves, an ancient Buddhist temples dating back around 2200 BC; Okayama Friendship Garden in pune , inspired by Japan’s Koraku-en Garden, spread over 10 acres with fountains and flowing water canal.

it transforms into a roaring cascade of water. Standing near the fall, with the cool mist enveloping me, was amazing/awe-inspiring.
