The procedure for applying for the Dubai Visa is not complicated.  However, make sure you have all the necessary documents in hand (scanned or hard copy) to avoid any  deferral.


How to Apply for a Dubai Visa?

You can apply for apply Dubai visa online either through an 

- OTA (Online Travel Agency)

- Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC) / Emirates Website

Online Application Process

  1. Choose the visa suitable for your requirement.

  2. Apply for an online visa by filling the form either through OTA/DVPC/Emirates website.

  3. Pay online via secure payment gateway

  4. Upload your documents

  5. Receive your Dubai Tourist Visa via Email


If you are planning to apply visa through the DVPC / Emirates Website then -

  1. Book the tickets with Emirates and get a valid PNR number.

  2. Click Additional service and select Apply for UAE Visa and proceed with Online application.

  3. Rest of the procedure will be same as above.


Offline Dubai Tourist Visa Application Process

  1. Download the Application Form

  2. Submit the form with all the required documents

  3. Visit any nearest Visa Application Centre of VFS Global to submit the documents.

Visa Application Centre

The visa application can be submitted either by you or your representative at the centre. A token is issued to the applicant or their representative (at few centres, wherever applicable) after which they can proceed to the submission officer’s desk.

What to bring with you? 

  1. Visa application form duly filled and signed 

  2. Original passport with 6 months validity for verification which should have minimum 2 blank pages. 

  3. Coloured photocopies of your Passport Bio & Last page

  4. Recent passport size photograph, 

  5. Confirmed return / onward Emirates ticket and other supporting documents as per eligibility criteria.


Visa fees can be paid by cash / credit card / demand draft. Upon payment collect the original Invoice cum receipt (ICR) copy from the cash counter.


After the completion of the process your visa will be delivered to you within 2 to 3 working days on the email ID mentioned in the Visa application form.

What to Expect During a Visa Interview?

Once you have filed your visa application, you may be requested to submit to a visa interview. The following are common questions may be asked during a visa interview -

  1. Why do you want to travel to Dubai country?

  2. Why do you want to visit at this specific time?

  3. Do you have a criminal record?

  4. Are you travelling with someone else?

  5. Who will you be visiting?

  6. How long will you stay?

  7. Where will you stay?

  8. Have you booked airline tickets?

  9. Do you have health insurance / travel insurance for this trip?

  10. Will you return to your home country after your visit?

Most visa applications are approved or denied without the need for an interview, but the visa officer may request one. 


After the completion of Visa processing and receiving your visa, make sure to apply for Ok to Board. It is an important document, most International airlines flying to Dubai or Sharjah airport require an OK to Board” confirmation from the visa agency before allowing the passenger to board the aircraft.
